The Bach Dynasty
The music of Johann Sebastian Bach is firmly grounded in the German Lutheran tradition. Bach was familiar with modern musical currents and trends from the music scene around Europe, but the musical traditions of Germany were always the basic point of departure for his musical language, as were the stimuli he received from his youth in an environment influenced by the many branches of the Bach musical dynasty. Together, all of this shaped his unmistakable musical language, which has been admired not only by his contemporaries.
