ABOUT THE CONCERT
The concert dedicated to the memory of the members of the Terezín Prisoners' String Orchestra will include a unique video projection of archival materials. The evening of remembrance will be hosted by the moderator Ester Janečková.
In October 2024, it will be eighty years since the members of the string orchestra that performed in the Terezín ghetto under the direction of conductor Karel Ančerl were sent to their deaths. On the occasion of this tragic anniversary, a concert will be held, featuring a quarter-tone piece by Karel Ančerl based on the avant-garde of the 1930s. It was discovered in the conductor's estate fifty years after his death. The concert will be performed by one of Europe's finest chamber orchestras, Aukso, which has successfully performed both classical and contemporary music.
