Description

ABOUT THE CONCERT

The performance of this iconic work by Johann Sebastian Bach is always an exceptional event. The Christmas Oratorio is a large piece composed by Bach in 1734-1735 in Leipzig. It consists of a total of six cantatas that were performed on the first, second and third Christmas feasts, as well as on the Feast of the Circumcision of the Lord, on the Sunday after the New Year and on the Feast of the Epiphany. Due to the large scale, only a selection of these cantatas will be presented. We cordially invite you to listen to this unique, joyful and festive composition, which tells the story of Christ's coming into the world.
