Description
ABOUT THE CONCERT
Ján Prievozník is a distinctive figure on the European performance scene. He developed at conservatories and the academy in Banská Bystrica, building on the strong tradition of its double-bass school and cultivating his own approach to solo and chamber performance. Alongside orchestral work with leading Slovak ensembles, he has long devoted himself to historically informed early-music performance, which has become his principal artistic path.
He works with major Baroque and chamber ensembles across Europe, appearing at prestigious festivals and concert halls from Prague to Vienna and Paris. His playing is valued for its depth, stylistic precision and natural musical expression, combining historical understanding with the living energy of the moment.
Monika Knoblochová is an internationally recognised harpsichordist who combines historically informed performance with a powerful dramaturgical imagination. She studied in Prague, Cologne and The Hague and is one of the leading Czech figures in early music. She is a laureate of international competitions, and her recordings have received major critical awards.
Her concert career takes her throughout Europe as a soloist and chamber musician with leading early-music ensembles. She also creates her own programmes, particularly for the Café crème Musical Salon series, where she brings music, the spoken word and other art forms together in unique evenings.
