Description
ABOUT THE SUBSCRIPTION
Czech music, works of the 20th century, and a series of both established and young Czech artists are all things that connect this year’s Early Evening Concerts, which will take place in the intimate setting of the Suk Hall.
The season will open with one of today’s most prominent string quartets, the Pavel Bořkovec Quartet. We can also look forward to two evenings of music combining instruments and voices. In November, we will hear Janáček’s iconic Diary of One Who Disappeared with the soloists Jaroslav Březina and Jana Hrochová, and mezzo-soprano Markéta Cukrová accompanied by the pianist Miroslav Sekera will appear in a programme devoted strictly to Classical period. Martin Opršál will bring the series to an unusual conclusion with his Percussion Ensemble featuring students from the Janáček Academy of Performing Arts. They will thrill the Suk Hall with audience-friendly compositions for percussion instruments.
